Dr. Charm’s expertise is in big data & AI, fintech, e-commerce, digital transformation, corporate innovation, intrapreneurship, strategic management.

Dr. Charm is the former Chief Public Mission Officer (CPMO) at the Hong Kong Cyberport. He established and nurtured a world-leading innovation and technology ecosystem for Cyberport with more than 1,200 start-ups from over 30 countries. Dr. Charm has been invited as an advisor and/or a mentor for a number of influential organizations, such as, HKSTP’s

LEAP Mentorship Programme, Cyberport’s Entrepreneurship Committee Advisory Group, ASTRI’s Technology Panel, HK Institute of Bankers’ FinTech Panel, FHKI’s Startup Council Executive Committee, Hong Kong CityU’s Hong Kong Tech 300, Hong Kong Consumer Council’s Digital Economy Committee, etc. He has also been invited as the Chief Judge of the FinTech Award of HK ICT Awards since 2019 and the final judges of the world’s most influential start-ups competitions, such as MIT Technology Review Innovators Under 35 APAC, Alibaba JumpStarter, HSBC x HKET Innovative Business Award, HKSTP Elevator Pitch.

Dr. Charm has designed and delivered various digital transformation and data literacy empowerment programmes to corporates in Asia, such as, Transunion, Hang Seng Bank, Bank of East Asia, HSBC, ICBC, CCB, BOC, China Everbright Bank, Shanghai Commercial Bank, DBS, UBS, AGBA, AIA, Sun Life, Chow Tai Fook, Harbour City, foodpanda, HKSTP, MTR, Airport Authority Hong Kong, and more. He is also teaching DBA, EMBA, MBA and executive programmes for the leading universities and training organizations, such as CUHK Business School, GBA Business School, HKPC Academy, HKU Institute for China Business and Swiss Business School.

 

Awards, Publication and Education

 

Dr. Charm published his book <數碼力大提升> in 2020 and his case “HSBC – Embracing Open Innovation for SMEs” on Ivey Publishing in 2021. He received the School of Business Distinguished Alumni Award (2019) and Outstanding Doctor of Business Administration Alumni Award (2018) from the City University of Hong Kong. Dr. Charm completed senior leadership training from MIT, Harvard, UC-Berkeley and CEIBS.
